Remember back in May when I wrote about entering the lottery to purchase Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic tickets?
And, then how I never spoke of it ever again?
It’s because I wasn’t able to obtain any tickets via the U.S. lottery. (Surprise! Surprise!)
And, then a few months later, both Bryce and I tried buying tickets when the general U.S. sales opened.
After waiting in a virtual line for more than an hour and experiencing the ticketing site crashing multiple times, we were left with no tickets.
But, like they say, the third time’s the charm!
Another wave of tickets went on sale last week for the U.S. and the E.U. I didn’t have high expectations, but we gave it another try. What did we have to lose? I guess just our time …
This time our persistence and nimble fingers paid off!
Bryce and I will be heading to the Olympics at the end of July to watch a few events! (More details to come … I need to have something more to write about when it gets closer, right?!)
This will be my first Olympics in person!
After the stress of buying the Olympic tickets, the stress wasn’t over.
Earlier this week, I waited in another virtual line for pre-sale tickets for Taylor Swift’s upcoming concert next summer. Luckily, I didn’t have to experience site crashes but there were definitely slow page loads followed by frantic texts back and forth with my cousin when trying to select “the best” seats for the price we were willing to pay.
Oh, and we’ll be traveling to Los Angeles for this concert since Taylor won’t be performing in Seattle.
Some may think all this travel “just” for a concert or “just” for sports is crazy. I’d like to think of it as being very enthusiastic!
This is just the life of a dedicated sports fan and Swiftie.
