“Can you stop?” I annoyingly said, more than asked.
What started out as my mom simply asking my brother’s girlfriend if she’ll be staying in town for Thanksgiving turned into a whole discussion around everyone’s Christmas plans.
It’s mid-July, for goodness sake.
As much as I love the holiday season between Thanksgiving and Christmas Day, I don’t enjoy talking about it when I am still trying to enjoy the summer.
That’s the thing about life though, right?
We’re always looking towards the next event, to the next vacation, to the next holiday.
Months ago, I was planning summer activities and weekend getaways.
And now my mom is just doing the same.
But, it doesn’t feel right when we’re having super sunny days and weekends packed with fun get-togethers and activities.
Summer, stay here a while longer.
