Five days ago I was on Oahu. We enjoyed Thanksgiving with family — Bryce cooked a turkey for the first time! — and spent plenty of time at the beach in the sun. Oh, and I was sick for a majority of the week-long trip. I got some virus that left me with no voice from all the coughing. More than a week after initially coughing, my voice is still not normal … and I still have a slight cough …
But, mentally I am still on that beach at Lanikai next to my kiddo. (More on Lanikai another day.) It would definitely be better being posted up at a semi-secluded beach in Hawaii running on cold meds than in dreary-rainy Seattle where I swear it gets dark at 3pm. The non-stop downpour rain we have had today and tomorrow — and into the foreseeable week does not help.
I know I have a TON of catch-up to do. You don’t even know all the blog posts I started and never finished that are saved as drafts up in here. (Yes, that half marathon I did in Vancouver, BC in May. Yes, the full story of our Tokyo Disneyland trip in October 2022. Yes, more on our previous Hawaii trip in February …)
Maybe I’ll get to finishing them. Maybe I’ll go back to scrolling through photos of our recent Hawaii trip. Maybe I’ll do both.
